More Fun May Events in Macon

The weather in May is so nice it’s a great time of year to get out of the house and do stuff. Lucky for you there is a ton of fun stuff going on in Macon this May. Here are a few events you should check out!

Macon Whisky Festival

Whether you’re a whisky connoisseur or just looking to meet some new friends, the 2017 Macon Whisky Festival is the place to be. The festival takes place on May 24th at the Downtown Grill. At the Macon Whisky Festival you will be able to sample five whiskies from the region of your choice: Ireland, Scotland, U.S.A., Canada, India, or Japan. Lemonade Stand Competition

Generation-Z’s 2nd Annual Lemonade Stand Competition will take place on May 20th at the Macon State Farmer’s Market. The profits from the competition go to help school aged children with tutoring, financial literacy training, and ACT/SAT prep. Registration is $7, which includes a t-shirt. All participants will receive lunch and a goodie bag filled up by Lemonade Stand Competition sponsors. The competition begins at 11:00 with participant and sponsor registration beginning at 9:30. The goal of this competition is to teach local children about entrepreneurship.

Cattle Drive 5K

May is Georgia’s beef month, and what a better way to celebrate than with the Cattle Drive 5K? The 3.1-mile course will begin in Tattnall Square Park and winds through beautiful Mercer University’s campus. The course ends back at Tattnall Square where runners will receive beef jerky and t-shirts. There are also great prizes to be handed out to the age division winners and the overall winner.
